Mia had her 9 month check-up last week and she is as healthy as can be. She weighs 19 lbs. 4 oz. (53rd%) and her height is 28 inches (58th%). She seems to be increasing her height while decreasing her weight (as far as percentages go). Good growing Mia! I had both kids' baby books out recently and I looked at Carter's 9 month stats in comparison, he weighed 20 lbs. 4 oz. (50th%) and was 27 inches (10th%). So they are really quite close in pounds and inches.
Sleeping - Mia sleeps from about 7:30pm to 8am and she takes a short cat nap around 10am and another big nap in the afternoon for about 2 to 2.5 hours.
Eating - Mia eats baby food about 2 times a day, drinks around 27 ounces and loves crackers and puffs. She's really good at picking things up and putting them in her mouth without assistance. We also started introducing yogurt, cheese and eggs this week.
Mobility - Mia crawls everywhere and pulls herself up on everything. She can get to a standing position holding onto almost anything and she is taking steps around furniture and with the assitance of walking toys. She also loves climbing up on our fireplace so we think it's a matter of time before she discovers the stairs. Time to get out the baby gates! She also tries to balance standing up without holding onto anything but she falls after a few seconds. Her record so far is about 10 seconds without falling. I don't remember Carter doing this stuff so early so we'll see if she's an early walker!
Other stuff - she waves at everything and everyone, she's a ham when people give her attention. She talks a lot of babble words but just recently started saying "ball" whenever we give her a ball. She definitely recognizes and knows this word. She also loves trying to copy whatever Carter is doing, they play together really well.
