November - Leaves and Trees
The last quarter of 2011 zoomed by with barely a blog post from us. Here's a little catch up to get us into the present.
It took us a few weekends to get all our leaves cleaned up but the kids had fun jumping and playing in the huge piles. I think one of Dave's New Year's resolutions is to buy a bigger leaf blower before next fall.
We had a fantastic Thanksgiving although I don't have any shots of all the eating we did (this is a good thing). But I do have a few shots of Carter in his festive turkey hat that he made in school. He even let Mia try it out.
We also went on our annual Christmas tree hunt with Grandpa and Grandma Jernstadt. I think this was the first year that we have not had ANY snow on the ground! It was quite pleasant and I really didn't mind tromping around the grounds in the balmy 45 degree weather.
The kids liked this Charlie Brown-ish looking tree.
We ended up opting for a slightly bigger version.
Carter was excited to help, he wanted to use the saw all by himself but that was nixed by me immediately.
Everyone had to get right in there to watch Grandpa do all the work. (Although Dave did carry it to the car).
It was a very successful trip and nobody had frost bit noses or slushy socks. I'll take that kind of tree hunt any year!

What a special birthday celebration for Grandpa, and a great start to the holiday season, to go on our Christmas Tree hunt with all of you.
We certainly had a warm day this year, for this fun annual Grandkids event - we sure look forward to it.
Love, Grandma and Grandpa Jernstadt
